How long should I spend in the infrared sauna?
+
For beginners, we recommend starting with 15–20 minutes at a moderate temperature and building up to 30–45 minutes over time. Always hydrate before and after your session. Listen to your body — if you feel dizzy or uncomfortable, step out and cool down.
Do I need experience to use the cold plunge?
+
No experience needed. We have 8 plunge pools at varying temperatures so you can start with a warmer option and gradually progress to colder pools as your tolerance builds. We recommend starting with 1–2 minutes and working up over multiple sessions. Slow, controlled breathing is the key.
Is there anything I shouldn't do before a session?
+
Avoid eating a heavy meal within 1–2 hours before recovery sessions. Stay well hydrated. If you have any underlying medical conditions — particularly cardiovascular, respiratory, or skin conditions — consult your doctor before using therapies such as the infrared sauna, hyperbaric chambers or cold plunge.
Are any therapies not suitable for certain people?
+
Some therapies are not recommended during pregnancy or for people with certain medical conditions. Specifically:
- Infrared Sauna — Not recommended during pregnancy or for people with uncontrolled hypertension
- Cold Plunge — Not recommended for people with Raynaud's disease or uncontrolled heart conditions
- Microbaric Sauna Chambers — Not suitable for those with active respiratory illness, unmanaged high blood pressure, pacemakers, untreated asthma, or a history of collapsed lung or recent sinus/eye surgery
If in doubt, please consult your GP before your first session.
What is a microbaric sauna chamber?
+
A microbaric sauna chamber (also known as a mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy or mHBOT pod) combines pressurised air at 1.3–1.5 ATA with concentrated oxygen. This super-saturates your blood plasma with O₂, promoting faster muscle recovery, reduced inflammation and enhanced mental clarity. Unlike clinical-grade hyperbaric chambers, microbaric pods are comfortable, accessible and deeply relaxing.
What does a microbaric chamber session feel like?
+
Sessions are deeply relaxing. As the chamber pressurises, you may feel a slight "pop" in your ears — similar to what you'd feel on an aeroplane. Once at pressure, most people read, listen to music or fall asleep. Sessions generally last 60 to 90 minutes and leave most people feeling calm, clear-headed and restored.
What's the difference between a microbaric chamber and a traditional sauna?
+
They work through completely different mechanisms. A microbaric chamber uses increased air pressure and high-concentration oxygen to flood the blood plasma with O₂ — targeting cellular repair and recovery. A traditional or infrared sauna uses heat to induce sweating, dilate blood vessels (vasodilation) and elevate heart rate. Both are powerful on their own; combining them as part of a recovery session at Revive X amplifies the benefits of each.
Do I need experience to do reformer pilates?
+
Not at all. Our on-demand pilates library includes classes for all levels — from complete beginners to advanced practitioners. Classes are clearly labelled by level and duration so you can always find something appropriate for where you're at.
How often should I come to see results?
+
Most members notice improvements in sleep, energy and recovery within the first 2–3 weeks of regular use. For physical results from pilates, research shows meaningful change within 6–8 weeks of consistent training. We recommend 3–5 visits per week across any combination of therapies for optimal results.
